Description

Scott Redding won Race 1 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) Showdown round at the TT Circuit Assen. Riding for the Hager PBM Racing Team, Redding claimed a dominant victory after moving quickly to the front from fifth on the grid. Ryan Vickers got the holeshot into turn one and led early on, but he was passed by Redding and eventually dropped back to fourth.
Championship leader Kyle Ryde secured second place (+2.143s) after a hard-fought battle to limit the damage to his title lead. Pole-sitter Leon Haslam rounded out the podium in third place (+2.517s) after losing out on the initial start.
