Result Description

Mercedes' George Russell took pole position for the sprint, ahead of teammate Kimi Antonelli and McLaren's Lando Norris. A red flag was observed at the end of SQ1 due to a crash from Fernando Alonso. While this marked Aston Martin's first SQ2 appearance of the year, he was unable to set a further lap time. Alexander Albon and Liam Lawson, who both experienced car-related issues following the earlier practice session, sat out of qualifying and made up the final two spots on the grid.
