Description

The 2026 BetVictor Welsh Open marks the final stop of the season’s Home Nations Series, returning to the scenic coast of Llandudno at Venue Cymru. As the longest-running ranking event outside of the Triple Crown, the Welsh Open carries immense prestige and serves as a critical battleground for players vying for a spot in the upcoming Tour Championship. Defending champion Mark Selby leads a star-studded field that includes local legend Mark Williams and the recent Players Championship standout John Higgins. With the early rounds played under the high-pressure "sprint" format of best-of-seven frames, top seeds must be sharp from the first break to avoid an early exit against hungry qualifiers and talented amateurs.
