Description

The third round of the Puerto Rico Open at Grand Reserve Golf Club marks a pivotal shift as the field looks to chase down the dominant pace set by Chandler Blanchet. Known as "Moving Day," Round 3 is where players traditionally take more risks to climb into contention before Sunday’s finale. The par-72 Tom Kite design is expected to be at its most defiant today, with the afternoon Atlantic winds likely to gust across the Paspalum fairways, making distance control into the large, undulating greens a high-stakes guessing game.

The narrative centers on the pursuit of the $4,000,000 purse and the life-altering two-year PGA TOUR exemption. While Blanchet enters with a four-shot cushion, the chasing pack is loaded with youthful energy and veteran experience. World-class amateur Gordon Sargent remains a primary threat, while the professional debut of John Daly II continues to be the week's most talked-about story. Strategically, the leaders must avoid the "big number" on the water-guarded par-5s, while those further back will look to exploit the early morning calm to post a low number and apply pressure before the leaders even tee off.
