Description

The second round of the 2026 Carlisle Arizona Women's Golf Classic at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course serves as the pivotal bridge to the weekend for the 132-player field. The strategic narrative for Friday centers on the "Cut Line Duel," where players must navigate the desert layout with enough aggression to stay inside the top 60 and ties while avoiding the high-stakes errors that TPC Scottsdale can force. The primary hurdle for the field is the transition of the greens from the morning's receptive surfaces to the afternoon's baked-out, lightning-fast speeds, which can turn a routine birdie putt into a defensive par save.

The headline story for Round 2 is the pursuit of the first-round leaders as they battle for a share of the tour's record-breaking $400,000 purse. Tactically, the focus shifts to the finishing stretch of holes 15 through 18; these holes are designed to reward bold play, but the swirling Scottsdale winds often make club selection a moving target. Strategically, players will target the par-5 17th as a "must-birdie" hole to secure their position. With 500 Race for the Card points on the line, the intensity of Friday's play is expected to mirror a major championship atmosphere as the field narrows for the final 36 holes.
