Description

The Octagon returns to the Meta APEX in Las Vegas for a high-stakes featherweight headliner on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The primary challenge for former bantamweight champion Aljamain "Funk Master" Sterling is checking the momentum of the surging "Moroccan Devil," Youssef Zalal. The objective for Sterling is to re-establish his claim for a title shot at 145 lbs by utilizing his elite "backpack" grappling to neutralize Zalal’s dynamic and elusive movement.

Strategically, the goal for Zalal—who enters his first UFC main event on an eight-fight winning streak—is to keep the fight standing and exploit his length and superior footwork. The tactical focus for the veteran Sterling is to cut off the cage and force the fight to the canvas, where he holds a significant technical advantage. With both fighters hovering near the top 10 of the featherweight rankings, the ultimate goal is to deliver a dominant performance that forces the UFC matchmakers to consider the winner for a summer showdown against the division's elite.
