Description

The Professional Fighters League returns to the African continent for the season opener of PFL Africa Season 2, hosted at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria. The primary challenge for the inaugural bantamweight champion Nkosi "King" Ndebele is defending his status in a high-profile showcase bout against international competition. For his opponent, Italy's Michele Clemente, the objective is to spoil the hometown celebration and prove that his technical grappling can neutralize the champion's explosive power.

Strategically, the event serves as the launchpad for the 2026 Welterweight Tournament, where the objective for the eight competitors is to secure a definitive victory in the quarterfinal round to move one step closer to the seasonal title. The tactical priority for the co-main event heavyweights, Justin Clarke and Abdoulaye Kane, is to utilize their contrasting styles—Clarke’s wrestling versus Kane’s knockout-heavy striking—to make a statement in a division defined by quick finishes. As the first major MMA event of the year in South Africa, the goal for the local contingent is to leverage the vocal Pretoria crowd to assert dominance over a diverse international field.
