Description

The final round at Shadow Creek presents a heavyweight "desert duel" as Lauren Coughlin holds a two-stroke lead over World No. 2 Nelly Korda. The primary challenge for the final pairing is navigating the championship pins on the back nine, specifically the water-shrouded 17th and 18th holes. The objective for Coughlin is to maintain her front-running composure and secure a landmark victory, while Korda’s goal is to utilize her "aggressive iron play" to bridge the gap early in the round.

Strategically, the final 18 holes are a test of risk management versus reward. The objective for the chasers, including Nanna Koerstz Madsen and Miyu Yamashita, is to attack the par-5s to force the leaders into a defensive mindset. The goal for the field is to avoid the penalizing fairway bunkers that have consistently led to bogeys throughout the week. With a $4,000,000 prize purse on the line, the tactical focus for the leaders is to find the fat of the greens and rely on their lag putting to navigate the "lightning-fast" surfaces of Shadow Creek.
