Description
Albert Arenas won the 2026 WorldSSP Race 1 at the Pirelli Spanish Round. Newly crowned as the 2026 World Supersport Champion, the AS bLU cRU Racing Team Yamaha rider converted his record-breaking pole position into a home victory at the Circuito de Jerez.
Arenas took the holeshot from pole position into Turn 1, facing early pressure from Can Öncü. While Arenas eventually broke away, Öncü’s pace dropped off slightly toward the end of the 17-lap race. Jeremy Alcoba pulled off a spectacular late-race charge to claw back a three-second deficit, overtaking both Tom Booth-Amos and Öncü to claim second place on home soil. Öncü held onto the final podium spot by just 0.034 seconds over Booth-Amos.
