Description

The tournament moves into "Moving Day" at the El Caballero Country Club, where the leaderboard is tightly packed with the world's best. The primary challenge of the par-71 layout is the increasing firming of the greens under the Los Angeles sun, which makes stopping approach shots on the tiered surfaces a significant trial. The objective for the co-leaders, Chizzy Iwai and Sei Young Kim, is to maintain their aggressive putting while navigating the deceptive elevation changes that can lead to costly bogeys.

Strategically, the goal for the field is to survive the daunting par-3s and capitalize on the reachable par-5 scoring holes. The tactical focus for chasers like Patty Tavatanakit and the amateur sensation Aphrodite Deng is to apply early scoreboard pressure before the afternoon San Fernando Valley breezes intensify. With a massive $3.75 million purse at stake, the ultimate goal for the contenders is to post a low-60s score to secure a spot in the final pairing for Sunday’s showdown.
