Description

As the 87th Senior PGA Championship moves into "Moving Day" at The Concession Golf Club, the focus shifts to the psychological endurance required by the Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin design. The primary challenge for the field is the increasingly firm greens, which demand high-launching approach shots and extreme care on the multi-tiered surfaces. The objective for overnight leader Scott Hend is to protect his three-stroke advantage while staying aggressive on the four par-5s that offer the best scoring opportunities in Bradenton.

Strategically, the goal for the chasing pack—which includes titans like Bernhard Langer and Stewart Cink—is to post a low front-nine score to apply early pressure. The tactical focus for the afternoon pairings is managing the unpredictable Florida winds that swirl through the corridors of the back nine. With a major title on the line and the historic Alfred S. Bourne Trophy waiting on Sunday, the ultimate goal for the contenders is to secure a place in the final pairing, as the closing stretch at Concession has a reputation for punishing even the slightest lapse in concentration.
