Description

As the field transitions into the third round of the Tulum Championship, the primary challenge is moving day on the PGA Riviera Maya course. The objective for the three co-leaders—Nicolo Galletti, Dylan Menante, and Blaine Hale Jr.—is to navigate the jungle-lined fairways while maintaining the aggressive scoring that brought them to 7-under-par. With the Caribbean humidity and ocean breezes expected to fluctuate, the tactical focus for the field shifts to position management, particularly on the difficult par-4s where the limestone waste areas come into play.

Strategically, the goal for the leaders is to distance themselves from a dense chasing pack that includes Caleb VanArragon and Jorge Fernández-Valdés. The ultimate goal for the contenders is to secure a spot in Sunday's final pairing. History at this venue suggests that scores can swing wildly on the back nine, so the field will need to balance risk and reward on the reachable par-5 14th to keep pace with the leaders before the pressure of the final 18 holes.
