Description

The PGA TOUR Americas inaugural event of the season reaches its climax at the Rio Olympic Golf Course. The primary challenge for the leaders is maintaining their nerve on the firm, links-style layout as the pressure of the season's first trophy intensifies. The objective for the final pairing—including overnight leader Mason Greene—is to navigate the exposed back nine where the Atlantic crosswinds are at their most unpredictable.

Strategically, the goal for the final round is to avoid the scorecard-damaging bunkers that guard the landing zones on the long par-4s. The tactical focus for the chasing pack, featuring a dense group of nine players within two strokes of the lead, is to take advantage of the reachable par-5 1st and 18th holes to apply early and late pressure. With a total of 500 Fortinet Cup points and a significant share of the $225,000 purse on the line, the ultimate goal is to master the technical nuances of the Gil Hanse design to become the first champion of the 2026 Americas season.
