Description

Golden Boy Promotions makes its highly anticipated return to the Bay Area as undefeated middleweight sensation Amari "The Reaper" Jones takes center stage at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The primary challenge for the 24-year-old Oakland native is passing the toughest test of his professional career as he squares off against experienced former world champion Vincenzo Gualtieri. The objective for the flawless 16-0 powerhouse is to secure a definitive victory in front of his hometown fans, with the high-stakes bout serving as a final eliminator for the vacant IBF middleweight world title.

Strategically, the goal for Jones is to utilize his explosive 88% knockout power and physical length to pressure the visitor and force an early stoppage, building on the momentum of his fourth-round destruction of Luis Arias in February. The tactical focus for Germany's Gualtieri centers on leveraging his extensive 12-round experience and defensive ring generalship to drag the young prospect into deep water. In the co-featured attraction, undefeated Swedish cruiserweight Robin Sirwan Safar puts his perfect 19-0 record on the line against the rugged Yamil Peralta. With the ultimate goal of securing a mandatory position for a world championship shot, both headliners enter the ring knowing that a single mistake will alter the trajectory of their careers.
