Description

The tournament doors swing open at the state-of-the-art Galaxy Arena in Macau, China, as the fifth season of Road to UFC officially kicks off. The primary challenge for the field of top un-signed Asian prospects is navigating the unforgiving "win-and-advance" brackets where a single loss completely ends their dreams of a UFC contract. The objective for the Episode 1 competitors is to lock down a convincing quarterfinal victory and set a dominant tone for the opening week of the Asia-Pacific showcase.

Strategically, the goal for the featherweight headliners is to make a massive statement to the scouting brass seated ringside. The tactical focus for the explosive Ahejiang Ailinuer centers on neutralising the precise striking and technical distance control of South Korea's GwanWoo Lim. Concurrently, the mission for New Zealand's Kasib Murdoch in the bantamweight co-feature is to impose his grueling pace on Japanese submission threat Yunosuke Minami. With the ultimate goal of moving one step closer to a life-changing promotional contract, all eight tournament quarterfinalists in this opening episode aim for spectacular, crowd-pleasing finishes.
