Description

Henry Cejudo makes his professional boxing debut in Miami against undefeated prospect Javon “Wanna” Walton in an unusual crossover main event under the Misfits Boxing banner. Cejudo brings one of the most distinguished combat-sports résumés of his generation, having won Olympic gold in freestyle wrestling before becoming a two-division UFC champion, but now faces the challenge of adapting his skill set to professional boxing. Walton enters with a 3-0-1 record and significantly more recent experience under boxing rules, giving the younger fighter an opportunity to score the most recognizable victory of his career. With Cejudo replacing his MMA gloves for boxing gloves and Walton stepping into a major-event spotlight, the matchup combines elite combat-sports pedigree with the unpredictability that defines crossover boxing.

Result Description

Henry Cejudo won his professional boxing debut by split decision over Javon “Wanna” Walton in the main event of Misfits Boxing in Miami. Walton used his youth, reach and cleaner work at distance to start well, but Cejudo gradually adjusted, closing the gap more effectively and landing the heavier punches as the fight progressed. The four-round contest remained competitive throughout, with Walton finding success on the counter while Cejudo pressed forward and increasingly dictated the exchanges. Two judges scored the fight 39-37 for Cejudo, while the third had it 39-37 for Walton, giving the former Olympic champion and two-division UFC titleholder a narrow victory in his first professional boxing appearance.
