Season Description
The 2026 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) season concluded with Thomas Preining securing his second career DTM championship title. Driving the Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, the Austrian driver clinched the crown at the Hockenheimring season finale on 11 October 2026.
The 2026 season showcased Group GT3 machinery from eight world-class manufacturers, including Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, and Ford.
This season saw the introduction of newly formulated, DTM-specific Pirelli tyres designed to alter strategy, alongside unique race formats requiring a single mandatory pit stop on Saturdays and a double pit stop strategy on Sundays.
Matteo Cairoli (Ferrari) and Ben Dörr (McLaren) emerged as multi-race winners throughout the year, keeping the championship highly unpredictable. Meanwhile, 18-year-old rookie Tom Kalender made DTM history at the Nürburgring by becoming the youngest driver ever to score a podium finish in the series.
